Originally hailing from the great state of Washington, Glen Wellbrock set his eyes on establishing San Diego as his home many years ago. “It was during my competitive volleyball days when I was invited to play in a tournament in San Diego in November”, Glen recalls. “If anyone knows the difference in weather between Seattle and San Diego during November, it’s not hard to imagine how I thought I had just landed in paradise!” Determined to make San Diego his home, he moved shortly thereafter. Today, his marketing career in San Diego spans finance, software, and real estate—all growing industries in this thriving yet easygoing city.

MOST AUTHENTIC NEIGHBORHOOD / Mission Hills. It offers a look at the oldest neighborhood in San Diego and offers the best things about living in this amazing city. It’s close to Old Town, downtown, the airport, the beach… It’s close to Balboa Park, and the stadium which hosts our world-class soccer teams and San Diego State University football. The homes are historic and beautiful, and you can walk to dinner at Fort Oak.
CURRENT FITNESS CRAZE / Pickleball, run clubs, yoga, surfing, equestrian. Doesn’t sound unique to you? We do them outside during the winter! With SPF! Check out Fit Athletic Club & Gym for other inspiration.
A MUST STOP FOR A DANDY / Every designer has a store in Fashion Valley, so go there for ease and convenience.
A distinguished gentleman would hit the Ascot Shop. You’ll thank me later for the service you get there.
PERFECT WEEKEND DAY WHILE VISITING / Treat yourself to the Fairmont Grand Del Mar for the stay. Hit Malibu Farms downtown for a quick bite before hitting my favorite beach on Coronado. Grab a new beach towel at the Hotel Del Coronado before getting a late lunch at Prado in Balboa Park. After strolling the museums a bit, grab a bottle of wine and hit the gliderport in Torrey Pines and watch the paragliders as the sun goes down. Continuing up the coast, I’d stop by George’s at the Cove, Marine Room, or Jake’s Del Mar for an unbelievable dinner and then maybe focus on the spa upon your return to the Grand Del Mar.”
