In a city that treats wellness with the same seriousness as dining and real estate, Aventura has quietly become the latest stage for South Florida’s most polished fitness evolution. Two recent arrivals — the newly opened Anatomy Aventura and the racquet expansion at JW Turnberry Isle — are collectively raising the bar for how the community trains, recovers, and socializes around sport.

Anatomy Aventura has taken up residence at The Abbey, unveiling a 26,000-square-foot destination spread across two levels that immediately signals it is more than simply another gym. The Anatomy brand, which now includes five South Florida locations, has built its reputation on the idea that fitness should feel as thoughtfully curated as a luxury hospitality experience, and the Aventura outpost delivers on that promise with precision.

From the moment members walk through the doors, the tone is set. The equipment reads like a greatest-hits compilation of elite training brands — Hammer Strength, Life Fitness, Woodway, and Rogue — arranged in a way that feels both elevated and purposeful. The layout moves intuitively: the lower level focuses on lower-body training and cardio, while the upper floor shifts to upper-body strength and an additional cardio deck, allowing members to move through their workouts without the congestion typical of traditional gyms.

Anatomy has always approached wellness as a full lifestyle rather than a series of exercises. A dedicated yoga, Pilates, and barre studio offers branded mats and soft lighting that subtly slows the pace of the space. Even the arrival ritual feels intentional, with members greeted by fresh eucalyptus towels alongside traditional dry ones.

The locker rooms extend the same attention to detail. Dyson blow dryers line the vanities, clothing steamers are available for a post-workout polish, and filtered shower heads add a small but welcome touch of luxury.

Recovery, however, is where Anatomy truly distinguishes itself. The club’s coed Sanctuary centers on contrast therapy with four plunge pools — two cold plunges ranging from 40 to 50 degrees and two hot plunges heated to 104 degrees. A traditional sauna and eucalyptus steam room complete the experience, while an attentive housekeeping team keeps the space pristine throughout the day. For those seeking a quieter reset, a dedicated stretch room and Hyperice compression boots support muscle recovery and lymphatic drainage after demanding sessions.

Membership includes access to nearly every amenity inside the club, with private training sessions offered separately. With its curated equipment, recovery-driven amenities, and collaborations that even include Lululemon merchandise, Anatomy Aventura feels less like a gym and more like a full-scale wellness environment designed for the rhythm of modern South Florida life.

Just a few blocks away, the JW Turnberry Isle — long one of Aventura’s anchor resorts — has introduced
its own new athletic energy. In collaboration with the members-only racquet brand Reserve, the property recently launched three pickleball courts and two padel courts, bringing two of the fastest-growing racquet sports to the neighborhood.

Guests can reserve courts with friends or arrange private lessons with the club’s professionals, while the racquet shop stocks the necessary gear for newcomers and enthusiasts alike. Access, however, retains a certain exclusivity: courts may only be booked by hotel guests or members.

Between the performance-driven sanctuary of Anatomy and the
lively outdoor courts at Turnberry, Aventura’s wellness culture has gained two new focal points — places where training, recovery, and social sport intersect with unmistakable South Florida ease.
