GABLES GAZE

In the realm of Miami’s luxury real estate, few names shine as brightly as Ashley Cusack’s, a maestro who has expertly navigated the market’s complexities for over 35 years. With an impressive nearly $1.5 billion in career sales, she has earned the unwavering trust of high-profile clients and the respect of her fellow agents. A standout moment came in the fall of 2022 when she exclusively listed and sold the legendary Arsht Estate for an astounding $106.875 million—the highest-priced residential property ever in Miami-Dade County. I FIRST FELL FOR CORAL GABLES… when I was born at Doctor’s Hospital in 1967! My love for this city and its people is deeply rooted in rich friendships and experiences.

FAVORITE LOCAL RESTAURANTS ARE… Frenchie’s Diner, Christy’s Restaurant, Fiola’s, Portosole – and we are anxiously awaiting the return of the iconic Burger Bob’s on the Granada Golf Course.

BEST PLACE TO HOLD A LUNCH MEETING HERE IS… overlooking the world-famous Biltmore pool at the al fresco Cascade Grill, sitting under a 24-foot waterfall with views of the majestic Biltmore Tower.

I TRY TO DISCONNECT AT… Salvatore Park in my neighborhood. I am a pickleball fanatic, I head there as often as I can.

PLACE THAT EMBODIES LOCAL SPIRIT IS… near Gables’ 9-hole Granada Golf Course, where you can really take in all that makes Coral Gables so unique and special. Just blocks from bustling Miracle Mile, you find yourself on a quiet, Coral Gables’ pink sidewalks overlooking the course, shaded by enormous Banyan trees that resemble giants from a whimsical children’s tale.

SOME OF MY FAVORITE LOCAL STANDOUTS INCLUDE… our beach at Matheson Hammock Park and Marina, which is great for small kids, but it is also a destination for the kiteboarders. It also features Noma Beach, a wonderful Italian restaurant with glorious views of the Bay.

CULTURALLY SPEAKING… Coral Gables may feel like a small town, but the arts are represented in a big way. The Actor’s Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre showcases acclaimed productions and offers an excellent children’s acting program. Home to the Ring Theatre, the University of Miami enriches the cultural landscape, while the Lowe Art Museum serves as the City of Miami’s first professional art exhibition space. The GableStage Theatre Company at the Biltmore Hotel presents works that tackle contemporary issues, and the Coral Gables Museum celebrates the history, vision, and cultural essence of the community.

THIS PLACE IS SPECIAL BECAUSE… Coral Gables offers a charming alternative to the vast metropolis that is Miami. I love the ease of walking, biking, taking a trolley to exciting venues and restaurants, or simply enjoying the local dog park and connecting with neighbors from around the globe. The exceptional service here, from responsive fire and police departments to friendly garbage collectors, highlights the personal touch that makes our community special.
