Dr. Michael Apa
DUBAI

With offices in New York, Los Angeles and recently opened Miami Dr. Apa, a dentist and a veneer whisperer, is the man behind the smiles of A-listers worldwide including Kendall Jenner, Simon Cowell, Jennifer Lopez, and Uma Thurman to name a few. His favorite travel destination also happens to be another one of his satellite offices.

FAVORITE DESTINATION
Dubai may be my favorite destination, but I should add that I don’t go in the summer as it’s way too hot. I took my first trip in 2008 to get licensed and in 2014, I signed a deal to build Apa Aesthetic Dubai. However, in my world, there is no ‘work-life balance.’ My life is my work, and my work is my life, hence my chosen destinations being where I have offices. When there is a new place on my hit list, I open an office in that location. Right now, considering I have four offices between New York, Los Angeles, Dubai, and Miami, I have found myself spending one week each month in each location.

FAVORITE RESTAURANTS
Il Borro Tuscan Bistro Dubai, the MayaBay Dubai and The Yacht Club at the Bulgari Hotel which overlooks a 46-boat harbor. It is picturesque with delicious food.

A DISH THAT TOOK YOUR BREATH AWAY
The panzanella Salad and branzino at Il Borro are my must-haves. I’m Italian, after all.

ACTIVITY THAT DEFINES YOUR EXPERIENCE THERE / A walk on the beach would suffice. As no two beaches are alike, the Jumeirah beach is special. Looking at the water, I feel calm, clear, and creative.

A RECOMMENDED WARDROBE
Brunello Cucinelli is my staple for when I travel and work. I must be comfortable so whether I’m dressing up or dressing down, I feel put together and comfortable at the same time.

FUN ANECDOTE FROM YOUR TRIP THERE
The trip begins when I get to the airport before I even step foot on the plane. Flying Emirates is an unbelievable experience; it sets the tone for a great trip.

Nicky Zimmermann
ST. BARTS

Nicky Zimmermann, the co-founder of her eponymous label, has just opened a new boutique on the iconic island of St. Barts. Her favorite spots there are as chic as every single piece from Zimmermann’s summer collection.

A HIDDEN GEM
Pharmacie de Gustavia is my go-to for the best French beauty products.

A RECOMMENDED WARDROBE WHILE THERE
It’s elevated, chic beach-side dressing – which is my favorite. Ultimately, it’s vacation wardrobe of swimwear with stylish cover-ups. Long dresses or relaxed pants and shirts for the evening. And don’t forget the playful accessories that amp up layering like raffia hats, cute beach bags and interesting eyewear shapes.

HOTELS RECOMMENDATIONS
I love Cheval Blanc, a French property with villas right on the beach. The Eden Roc is a picturesque, chic hotel with a storied history of fabulous guests including Greta Garbo and Lee Radziwell. And I also love the beach-front spot, Le Sereno, as they have a great private spa looking out onto the ocean.

FEW RESTAURANTS YOU CAN RECOMMEND
NAO or Le Toiny Beach Club are great spots for a seaside lunch. Other fantastic restaurants include Tamarin, Bonito, and Shellona.

A COCKTAIL THAT TAKES YOU BACK
The Hibiscus Paloma with grapefruit soda at NAO.

Paola Alberdi
IRELAND

HOTELS YOU CAN RECOMMEND
In Dublin, the Merrion Hotel is ideal for a luxurious stay. For the outskirts of Ireland, Ashford Castle in Cong, County Mayo and Adare Manor in County Limerick are a few of my treasured spots.

FAVORITE RESTAURANTS
At Ashford Castle, definitely the Dungeon Restaurant, Cúllen’s at The Cottage and the George V Dining Room, a Michelin-star restaurant. In Dublin, Mister S guarantees a memorable yet casual experience.

A DISH THAT TOOK YOUR BREATH AWAY
At Mister S the over-the-grill meats are exceptional. The short rib was cooked to perfection and absolutely to die for. At Ashford Castle, every dish was extraordinary. The burger and club sandwich for lunch were highlights, and the lamb for dinner was an amazing culinary experience.

A PERFECT ITINERARY THERE
Stay at Ashford Castle in Cong, County Mayo. Begin your day by exploring the stunning gardens of the castle and after a leisurely walk, enjoy lunch at one of its exquisite dining venues. The club sandwich is a must-try, or indulge in their delightful afternoon tea service. Spend the afternoon engaging in one of the castle’s many activities, such as horseback riding through the picturesque forest or experiencing the ancient art of falconry.

WHY YOU LOVE IT
The scenery, weather and people.

A RECOMMENDED WARDROBE WHILE THERE
Quilted jackets, sweaters, leggings and rain boots are essential for staying comfortable in Ireland’s variable weather.

A COCKTAIL THAT TAKES YOU BACK
An Irish cream cocktail is perfect after a long meal, evoking the rich and creamy flavors of Ireland.

SHARE A FUN ANECDOTE FROM YOUR TRIP THERE
We decided to travel by train from Ashford to Dublin – it’s about a four hour train ride. At first we thought it was a great idea, but traveling with four suitcases and two toddlers and a stroller, you can imagine! It was a hilarious adventure. We still laugh at how we managed to get everything on and off the train.

Nathalie Cadet James
Trancoso, Bahia, BRAZIL

As one of the top event designers in the country, Nathalie Cadet James the founder and CEO of Luxe Fete, produces exceptional work, bringing together diverse communities and themes for her high-profile clientele. When not busy planning the next big event, you’ll find her in South America.

A PERFECT ITINERARY
Enjoy a delicious cup of coffee and a fresh breakfast while lounging near the private pool. Then, meet the Mestre for a private Capoeira class. Head over to Uxua’s Beach Bar. It features a restored old fisherman bar formed by an antique wooden boat topped by a thatch roof. Low impact, sustainable, and delightful. It’s been called one of the top 50 beach bars in the world. Enjoy the refreshing coconut water and fruit there and later you can go horseback riding on the beach or dip into the ocean. For nighttime festivities, put on a chic outfit and make your way to the sexy Hotel Fasano Trancoso to enjoy dinner and cocktails! For a relaxation day, the natural spa treatments are a must as they are inspired by the region’s folk medicine heritage and ancient healing practices of the local Pataxó People.

WHY YOU LOVE IT
Trancoso provides barefoot beach luxury and the ultimate recharge. It is an authentic cultural experience, one which honors nature and self. And the incredible farm-to-table food is delightful.

A MUST-DO ACTIVITY
At the Uxua Casa Hotel full moon beach party, we love dancing under the bright moonlight and seeing its reflection on the vast ocean. We always sit by the bonfire and enjoy the sounds of musicians filling the air. It’s so special.

FAVORITE RESTAURANT
Floresta is located in the middle of a dense forest surrounded by a rubber plantation. The tables are arranged under trees and the homemade food is prepared in wood-fire. The kitchen is is led by Chef Jandira. She is native to the area and is simply the sweetest.

A RECOMMENDED WARDROBE
All you need is a bathing suit, an easy dress, flat sandals, sunglasses and you are good to go!

A COCKTAIL THAT TAKES YOU BACK
Caipirinha. I love the variations on this drink found in Trancoso using seasonal and exotic ingredients.

HOTEL YOU CAN RECOMMEND
Uxua Casa Hotel. The luxury boutique hotel is the perfect place for a historically chic getaway experience. Our family has traveled to Trancoso a few times, especially when there is a full moon. The entire town celebrates with a beach party hosted by Uxua Hotel.

FYI
Don’t run from the little monkeys! They are harmless and couldn’t care less that you are there. Also, foraging for berries is a blast! The staff assists you in creating delicious drinks with them. They also have a Vida Lab on the premise that gives you private lessons on juice mixology, medical-nutritional cooking, natural fermentation, essential oil extraction and organic aromatherapy!

Roy Teng Moure
Ñago di Garda, ITALY

The most fashionable man in Miami is also a father to four children and a dedicated sailor, an activity he shares with his family. When not planning for the next regatta, you can find him in the Italian lakes region, indulging in all the best the area has to offer.

SHARE A FUN ANECDOTE FROM YOUR TRIP THERE
We all took windsurfing and wakeboarding lessons, which was immense fun. The water temperature can be chilly but very comfortable with a wet-suit. Verona, Venice and Milan are a short drive or train ride away. Everyone, especially our kids, had a blast!

ACTIVITY THAT DEFINES YOUR EXPERIENCE THERE
Our favorite family activity is to rent e-bikes and explore the other smaller towns and lakes riding along the gorgeous bike trails.

GIVE US A PERFECT ITINERARY THERE
Lago di Garda is huge and there are little towns all around the lake that we love to explore. We typically spend time in Riva del Garda, which is the northern tip of the lake. The water and mountain views are breathtaking. It’s a view I never get tired of.

FEW HOTELS YOU CAN RECOMMEND
Lido Palace, Du Lac et Du Parc Grand Resort, Hotel Lago di Garda.

RESTAURANTS YOU CAN RECOMMEND
There are so many great restaurants in Riva del Garda it’s difficult to name a favorite, but I do enjoy “Al Vaticano” and “Bellavista Ristorante Pizzeria” just to name a few.

DISH THAT TOOK YOUR BREATH AWAY
I go crazy for pasta and seafood whenever I am there. My friends make fun of me because I always order the same dish – “Spaghetti allo Scoglio” which is spaghetti with mixed seafood. Every restaurant has their own version of it so it is always slightly different.

Jane Gottschalk
IBIZA

As the co-founder and creative director of Perfect Moment, an ’80s-inspired skiwear sports brand, Jane Gottschalk has masterfully integrated elements of luxury travel into everyday products. Her dynamic lifestyle fuels her creativity and innovation, with Ibiza serving as the ideal spot for both celebration and relaxation.

HOTEL RECOMMENDATIONS
The first five-star hotel away from any nightlife is the Six Senses Hotel, perched on the cliffs overlooking the sea in the far north of the island. It sets a new, quiet luxury tone on the island whilst maintaining the island’s spirit. There is also the newly opened Montesol Experimental Hotel which is near the base of the Old Town in Ibiza Town, or one of the more rustic Agriturismo hotels such as Atzaró, surrounded by farmland.

TWO REASON WHY YOU LOVE IT

  1. I love how imperfect it still is. Contrary to the manicured hedgerows of the Hamptons, Palm Beach and St Tropez, Ibiza still has potholed, sandy tracks leading to houses and restaurants.
  2. The perception is different from reality. Most of the island, away from Ibiza Town and the super clubs, is rustic, wild and rugged with traditional fincas.

RESTAURANTS YOU CAN RECOMMEND
The Old Town is scattered with small, traditional, local restaurants and bars that are always fun to explore. Casa Jondal is currently one of the best and most popular restaurants on the island. Find someone who knows someone to get you a table, but be prepared for New York prices. Es Torrent and Ses Bosques are both great “feet in the sand,” family-run, traditional fish restaurants.

A DISH THAT TOOK YOUR BREATH AWAY
The Prawn Carpaccio or the three-tiered whole pineapple with pineapple ice cream and pineapple crème brûlée from Casa Jondal.

A PERFECT ITINERARY THERE
Long, lazy afternoons by the sun-kissed glistening water and long nights with friends. Ibiza is a social place, bringing friends and families together due to its relaxed environment and laissez-faire attitude. Breakfast is lunch, and lunch is dinner in terms of timing. The days start late and end well into the night.

ACTIVITY THAT DEFINES YOUR EXPERIENCE THERE
Swimming in deserted coves, late lunches that turn into dinners and a lot of dancing.

A RECOMMENDED WARDROBE WHILE THERE
“Barely There,” lightweight cotton or linen, swimwear, long flowing dresses and flat shoes. Ibiza is mostly low-key when it comes to dressing. No blowouts, make up or fancy jewelry.
