Hold on to your berets, Paris. The Magic City is coming to town, and the design world is about to take center stage. Design Miami is making a grand return to the City of Light for its second edition of DESIGN MIAMI.PARIS this October. If last year’s event was any indication, this year’s fair promises to captivate design enthusiasts and collectors with its dazzling array of covetable goodies.
“We’re thrilled to be returning for the second edition of DESIGN MIAMI.PARIS this October,” Grela Orihuela, Senior VP of Fairs at Design Miami, told us. “Our expansion into Paris marked a new moment on the cultural calendar – there was great energy and buzz around last year’s inaugural edition, and we know this year that is only set to grow.”
“Our second edition will continue the dialogue between rare and exceptional contemporary and historic collectible design against the backdrop of the magnificent L’hôtel de Maisons, with programming and collaborations announced in the coming months – stay tuned for further announcements,” Orihuela added.
For those who may have yet to see the memo, Design Miami is the global authority on design objects. It brings together the most influential players in the design world through acclaimed fairs in Los Angeles, Basel, Paris, and Miami Beach. These are far from your run-of-the-mill events; they’re glamorous exhibitions showcasing historic and contemporary furniture, lighting, and objets d’art, all expertly curated and presented with flair.
But DESIGN MIAMI.PARIS isn’t just about selling beautiful pieces – it’s about engaging with the global design community at the highest levels. The fair will feature a packed program of gallery presentations, design talks, and unique commissions from visionary creatives, curators, and brands. It’s a playground for the design-obsessed, where collectors and newbies can mingle and immerse themselves in a world of design culture and commerce.
Take it from those who know: “The Downtown François Laffanour gallery presented some design masterpieces for this edition: Jean Royere, Charlotte Perriand, Jean Prouvé, and Serge Mouille, all of which quickly found buyers,” the gallery’s owner, François Laffanour, shared about his experience at last year’s edition. “The challenge of sharing a stand with another gallery, in this case, Thomas Fritsch – Atrium, was an exciting one that was greatly appreciated by the public.”
What makes DESIGN MIAMI.PARIS extra special is its stunning venue. L’Hôtel de Maisons will add a touch of Parisian charm, making the whole experience even more enchanting. “The exceptional nature of the place helped to promote this event, as L’Hôtel de Maisons provided a rare opportunity to show modern design in the luxuriance of 18th-century decor,” commented gallerist Patrick Seguin, who took part in last year’s fair.
Seguin added that last year’s show was a hit, creating a buzz that left everyone craving more. The anticipation is palpable this year, with even more exciting programming and collaborations in the pipeline. And the fun doesn’t stop at the fairs. Design Miami’s online flagship will offer shoppable collections, original content, and engaging conversations through its online magazine, The Forum. It’s a one-stop shop for design lovers looking to stay in the loop and indulge in some serious eye candy.
