MIND OVER MATTER

Haitian-born Anick Vorbe has called Miami home for over 20 years. A multidisciplinary artist working across fashion, interior design, and wellness, she recently added “author” to her repertoire with the debut of My Drumbeats—a poetic work and a form of activism aimed at awakening the collective consciousness. From bookstores to yoga studios and cafés, these are the places and ideas that keep her grounded.

Designing my handmade floral headpieces is incredibly therapeutic. Most of the flowers I use are vintage, dating back to the 1950s—I have a secret source. I consider them floral sculptures and name each one after the woman who adopts it. The work is deeply influenced by figures like Frida Kahlo and Anacaona, a Taino leader who resisted Spanish colonization in what is now Haiti.

It is a must to support our local bookstores. I am constantly inspired by BOOKS & BOOKS. This place is a vibe—there is nothing like the smell of books. I felt privileged to host one of my book signing events there.

I recently discovered FAÇADE BAKERY AND CAFÉ IN CORAL GABLES, and it has quickly become a favorite. The space is both chic and charming, with artisan bread dishes that are truly exceptional.

I can’t get enough of this “liquid gold” face oil from BABE ESSENTIALS. It instantly plumps my skin and locks in moisture. I love supporting this women-owned brand—it’s clean, effective, and honors its customers with care.

I’m a devoted yogini, and I teach a weekly vinyasa flow class at LIPÉ HOUSE OF WELLNESS IN CORAL GABLES. Don’t leave without trying their signature rose tea after class. I’m also one of the founding partners of The Flow House, and we’re excited to launch our first yoga retreat at Villa Bokeh, a Relais & Châteaux property nestled in the colonial city of Antigua, Guatemala. My goal is to create a mindful community rooted in wellness and intention.
