57: That’s the number of laps around the Miami International Autodrome that makes up one race in the Miami Grand Prix. The number of laps in a Formula 1 race can vary, but most races are at least 189.5 miles long.
$12 Million: A Formula One car can cost between $12 million and $20 million, all depending on sources and the season. The car’s engine alone is worth about $10.5 million and each engine only last for five races. That’s a lifespan of 10 hours.
233 MPH: There’s fast, and then there’s deadly fast. At certain points in any Formula One race, cars can achieve speeds of 233 miles per hour, but this top speed is only achieved on long straight-line runs by the fastest cars. On a typical circuit, cars can reach an average speed of up to 200 mph.

The event, which runs through May 4, takes place at the Miami International Autodrome, a track built for the race around Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens. A bit of intel: This is the Miami race’s third year, which is part of a 10-year contract between Formula One and the city.
