If you had to teach a class on one thing, what would you teach? Lessons of the longest-living people in the world.

If you could eliminate one thing from your daily routine, what would it be and why? All the work emails.

Would you rather be the funniest or smartest person in the room? Neither. I want to surround myself with people smarter and funnier.

What would you like to be remembered for? Adding to the body of work around health and longevity.

Where would you like to retire? RETIREMENT IS OVERRATED. In most blue zones, older people never retire. Instead, they live out their purpose into their 90’s and 100’s.

Current societal obsession with longevity is… Quick fixes – stem cells, blood transfusions, supplements and pills… none of it works.

If you could magically become fluent in any language, what would it be? Italian.

What is your favorite time of the day and why? Anytime I’m out on my bicycle or eating a meal with friends.

Most surprising thing you learned about individuals living long lives is… They don’t try. It just happened to them because their environment was set up for longevity to ensue.

What’s the best piece of advice you have ever been given? Drink without getting drunk. Love without suƒering jealousy. Eat without overindulging. Never argue. And once in a while, with great discretion, misbehave.

Name a food item that’s always on your grocery list. Beans!

Describe yourself using one word. Curious.

In the game of living your best life, what’s more important? The quality of food or the company you keep? Studies show that smoking, obesity, happiness, and even loneliness are contagious. So the social networks of long-lived people have favorably shaped their health and eating behaviors.
